Galaxy & Exploration

A persistent galaxy of 1,900 star systems awaits. Every system is always there, always owned by someone or waiting to be claimed. Geography matters. Where you are determines what you can do.

Galaxy Structure

The galaxy is organized into 104 sectors arranged along spiral arms radiating outward from a dense central core. This topology creates natural corridors: wide highways along the arms and narrow chokepoints where arms intersect or branch.

Each sector contains between 12 and 25 star systems connected by jump lanes. The total count sits at approximately 1,900 systems, giving the galaxy enough scale for thousands of concurrent players while ensuring every system has strategic relevance.

Security Zones

Five concentric zones define the galaxy's risk-reward gradient, from the protected center to the lawless frontier.

Core

Full NPC patrol coverage. PvP is prohibited. Starter systems and tutorial zones. Low-tier resources only.

Inner Ring

Light NPC patrols. PvP is flagged and attackers gain a bounty. Mid-tier resources available.

Mid Ring

No NPC patrols. PvP is unrestricted but sovereignty structures provide local defense. Good resource variety.

Outer Ring

Deep frontier. Rare resources, unstable jump lanes, and minimal infrastructure. Alliance territory wars happen here.

Lawless

No rules, no protection, no sovereignty. The richest deposits in the game, guarded only by whatever you bring.

Star Types

Each star system is anchored by one of five stellar types, which determines the celestial bodies present and the resources available:

  • Yellow Main Sequence: Balanced systems with rocky and gas planets. Common in Inner and Mid Ring.
  • Red Dwarf: Small systems with mineral-rich asteroid belts. Abundant across all zones.
  • Blue Giant: High-energy systems yielding rare plasma and isotopes. Found in Outer Ring and Lawless.
  • White Dwarf: Compact systems with dense metal deposits. Scattered throughout Mid Ring.
  • Binary: Dual-star systems with unstable orbits but double the celestial bodies. Rare and highly contested.

Jump Lanes

Systems are connected by jump lanes, which are predetermined routes that ships travel along. Jump lane travel consumes fuel proportional to the distance and your ship's mass. There is no faster-than-light free movement; the lane network is the only way to move between systems.

Unstable jump lanes appear temporarily in Outer Ring and Lawless space, connecting otherwise distant systems for a limited window. These shortcuts are prized by explorers and raiders alike because they provide access to isolated resource deposits and unexpected flanking routes during wars.

Celestial Bodies

Each system contains a mix of celestial bodies: rocky planets for base building, gas giants for atmospheric extraction, asteroid belts for mining, moons for specialized facilities, and anomalies for exploration events. The composition depends on the star type and security zone.

Resource Distribution

Resources are not evenly distributed. Common ores appear everywhere, but advanced materials concentrate in specific zones and star types. Tier 4 and Tier 5 resources are found almost exclusively in Outer Ring and Lawless space, ensuring that high-end production always depends on frontier supply chains.

Deposits are finite. Once extracted, a deposit is gone. New deposits appear through exploration events and geological surveys, but the rate never matches peak extraction. This depletion cycle drives expansion, conflict, and trade in equal measure.
